REVISED Interlocal Agreement between Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte regarding Stevens Creek Stream Restoration Project
Summary
ACTION:
Adopt Resolution Regarding Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte to fund the Stevens Creek Stream Restoration Project that does the following:
1) Authorize and direct the County Manager (or his/her authorized designee) to: 1) execute the ILA; 2) provide the County’s written approval of the award by City of the construction contract for the Project; and 3) provide the County's written approval of any subsequent proposed change orders to the construction contract originally approved by the County pursuant to subsection (2) above; and
2) Appropriate $2,702,664.39 from the Storm Water Services fund, and together with $184,800.00 in existing Capital Improvement Paygo Funds for Park and Recreation, fund the total amount of $2,887,464.39 to City, as specified below, as County’s contribution for completion of the Project

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Interlocal Agreement (ILA) funds a joint sewer, stream restoration, pedestrian bridge, and stream crossing project along Stevens Creek in Mint Hill, North Carolina. The County will fund construction of stream improvements, a pedestrian bridge to the new nature preserve, and a stream crossing along Stevens Creek. The Stevens Creek Stream Restoration Project (Project) will also restore approximately 10,300 linear feet of Stevens Creek and tributary, as well as, provide pedestrian and maintenance crossings for the Park & Recreation Nature Preserve.
The City will oversee and manage Project construction, while coordinating closely with County Storm Water Services and Park and Recreation.
