BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
May is designated as National Foster Care Month a time to recognize the importance of foster care and acknowledge the parents, family members, foster parents, kinship caregivers, child welfare professionals and system partners involved in caring for children in foster care. This month-long observance provides an opportunity to raise awareness of this these issues and the current needs of children and families in Mecklenburg County.
