BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office received a technology grant in the amount of $200,000 from GTL/ViaPath Technologies as a one-time contribution for use at the discretion of the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office intends to expend the funds towards a purchase of a mail scanner that can be used for scanning of legal mail in the presence of the residents.
