Action
ACTION:
1) Approve the submission of a grant application to Bass Pro Shops- Cabala’s Community Grant to provide archery equipment to support the MCSO Centershot Blue program; and
2) If approved, receive a donation of archery equipment from Bass Pro Shops-Cabela’s Community Grant program.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The MCSO Community Engagement Team members are certified Basic Archery Instructors through the Centershot Blue program, whose mission is to build new levels of trust and rapport in our communities through archery. Nationally, this program has been proven to release stress, enhance physical fitness, and make incredible memories with community members of any age. Through this program, we look to engage with our communities in a way that promotes competition, adventure, and camaraderie and connects participants to the outdoors. The MCSO is seeking approval to apply for a donation of Archery equipment, including 20 Bows, arrows, targets, and miscellaneous equipment, to support the facilitation of the Centershot Blue program to residents of Mecklenburg County.
Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis. This is a donation of equipment only.
