BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

Adolescents experience violence from a wide range of perpetrators that may include family members and dating partners. Adolescent victims experience fear and shame, and social norms that may discourage them from seeking help. Through this funding, Community Support Services will maintain and enhance provision of teen dating violence prevention information to a wide variety of audiences, including youth, parents, and service providers. CSS will continue to educate youth in the community and at Charlotte Mecklenburg middle school and high school levels. The award project period is October 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024. Retroactive pre-award costs incurred from October 1, 2023 through the date of the notification letter (January 8, 2024) are allowed.
