ACTION:

1) Adopt a special revenue fund ordinance for the "A Way Home" campaign funds in the Special Revenue Fund (8521); and

 

2) Recognize and appropriate $2,500.00 received from the Park Ministries to the Sheriff’s Office Special Revenue Fund (8521).

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The Chaplain Services of the Sheriff’s Office is coordinating “A Way Home” campaign in an effort to assist released residents with a way to get home safely.  As part of the campaign, any funds received from community partners will be used to purchase Uber Cards to be utilized by residents who are unable to make their way home.  The UBER rides will assist those who live across the vast area of the Mecklenburg County.  The Sheriff’s Office received $2,500 from the Park Ministries.  These funds will be appropriated in the special revenue fund.
