BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

NC Alliance of YMCA’s has extended an opportunity for N.C. community-based organizations (CBOs) to apply for NC Pandemic Recovery Office Coronavirus grant funding.  The funding will support remote learning for students while schools are in Plan B (hybrid) or Plan C (full remote learning) due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  The grant will provide up to $100,000 per remote learning site for COVID-19 relief funds. The department will offer remote learning labs at seven (7) Recreation Centers (Arbor Glen- $55k, Albemarle Road-$50k, Berewick-$47k, Ivory/Baker-$56K, Mallard Creek-$48k, Naomi Drenan $46K, Tom Sykes-$48K). This funding will offset the costs of salaries, as well as, cleaning and programming supplies.  These labs will be offered for the children of County employees in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
