ACTION:
Amend the 2019-2020 Budget Ordinance to recognize, receive and appropriate an increase in revenue of $2,500 from the AXON Food and Shelter for First Responders Program to the General Fund (0001) within the Sheriff's Office.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) has been awarded $2,500 from the Major County Sheriffs of America’s (MCSA) Diamond Premiere Partner, AXON as part of their “Food and Shelter for First Responders Program”. AXON has been at the front of technological advances such as the taser and this is just another example of how AXON is stepping up to support law enforcement. MCSO will use the funding to provide all shifts working throughout the agency with a meal to augment the disruption caused by Covid-19 to the ODR. The ODR has been reduced to pre-made sandwiches and snacks. Having the opportunity to bring in pizza or a catered meal will go a long way to keep morale up during this crisis.
