BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Human Trafficking Awareness Month is a national campaign to bring awareness to the criminal act of human trafficking which the Department of Homeland Security defines as a form of modern-day slavery involving the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Millions of men, women and children become victims of this crime every year.
