BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Board first received a presentation on renovations to the 2nd, 4th, and 11th floors of the CMGC on July 2, 2019. Based on comments from members of the Board, the consulting architect, Gensler, has modified the plans on the 11th floor. This presentation is for review of the 11th floor modifications since the last meeting.
Other work in addition to the 11th floor involves relocating the Economic Development Office from the second floor to the 4th floor of the CMGC, renovating the 2nd floor into a conference suite, and relocating the Public Information Department from the Valerie C. Woodard Center to the 4th floor of the CMGC. The proposed relocation of Internal Audit from the CMGC 4th floor to the Judge Clifton Johnson Building allows the PI Department to relocate to the CMGC. The relocation of the central Finance group from the 11th floor creates space for staff growth of existing County divisions on the 11th floor and the relocation of Manager's Office staff from the 4th floor. This project will also provide a needed update of finishes and furniture for all County floors.
