BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
September 17th marks the 232nd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution by the Constitutional Convention. The N.C. District III, Daughters of the American Revolution respectfully requested that the proclamation be done to commemorate the celebration of Constitution Week for Mecklenburg County. Constitution Week is celebrated each year from September 12th through September 23rd. Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of America designating September 17th through 23rd as Constitution Week. Chair Dunlap will read the Proclamation.
