1) Receive as information presentation on the results of the feasibility study conducted by Chinn Planning to consider utilizing Jail North as a statewide juvenile detention facility

 

2) Receive as information presentation from Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden and Dr. Keith Cradle, Director of Youth Programs, Sheriff's Office, regarding the possible use of Jail North as a statewide juvenile detention facility

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The County Manager requested a feasibility study be conducted in response to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety's interest in utilizing vacant space at Jail North for statewide juvenile detention.

 

The Board will hear from Chinn Planning President Karen Chinn, Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden, and Dr. Keith Cradle, Director of Youth Programs, Sheriff's Office, on this topic.
