BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Under Armour, Inc., in partnership with the NBA and Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE), launched the Building Bridges through Basketball program, which uses basketball to unite youth and law enforcement in cities across the country. The program is designed to break barriers, build trust and create pathways for positive communication. The program was initiated at Naomi Drenan Recreation Center during the NBA All-Star weekend. Under Armour, Inc. has decided to invest $25,000 to expand the program. The funding will be used to purchase supplies and other expenses associated with managing the program.
