BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The services requested are for preparing a comprehensive park and recreation master plan. The consultant will collect and analyze data to develop a clear set of goals, policies, standards, and recommendations for Mecklenburg County’s recreation facilities, greenways, nature preserves, recreational programming, and land acquisition strategies for the next ten years.


PROCUREMENT BACKGROUND:
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was advertised on April 4, 2019, in The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte Post and the State of North Carolina Interactive Purchasing System web site. The selection of the consulting firms followed NC General Statute 143-64.31, which prescribes a qualifications-based selection process.

Per the Board's instructions, the Selection Committee submits the following report:

The following eight (8) firms submitted a Statement of Qualifications expressing an interest in the project:

Agency Landscape and Planning
American Metroplan
Design Workshop
GreenPlay, LLC
MKSK
Sasaki
WRT

On May 15, 2019, a shortlist selection committee composed of staff from Park and Recreation, and Asset and Facility Management selected two (2) firms for interviews.

On June 12, 2019, the Selection Committee interviewed the following two (2) shortlisted firms:
