BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Department of Social Services has served as co-lead agency for the past several years with the Council on Aging. Since that agency is no longer staffed and its future is unknown, DSS is acting as the sole designated lead agency for the administration of the Home and Community Care Block Grant. If the status of the Council on Aging changes, it is recommended they resume this role. Attached is a copy of the updated by-laws that reflect this change.
The Committee is preparing to develop the County Aging Funding Plan for fiscal year 2020. Grant requirements include the appointment of an Advisory Committee to assist in gathering input and obtaining consensus regarding content of the plan. This appointment will assist the Lead Agency in the development of the County Aging Funding Plan for Fiscal Year 2020. Please see the attached roster of membership.
