BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Capital Reserve accounts were established to maintain synthetic turf fields. Harrisburg Park has 2 synthetic turf fields that have reached their useful life of 10 years. The fields will be replaced during a time of year that causes the least impact to residents and rentals. The current expense budget has $472,316 available to assist with the $1.1 million needed to replace the two fields. The department has identified the additional funding of $200,000 from operational savings. Harrisburg Park is located at 8045 Harrisburg Road, Harrisburg, NC
PROCUREMENT BACKGROUND:
Park and Recreation staff has contacted County Procurement and will work together on this project to meet all County and State purchasing requirements. Procurement has stated that the synthetic turf is offered through Shaw Sports Turf on NJPA buying contract #082114-SII and can be installed by a local contractor.
