Renovation of the Medical Examiners Office and in the event negotiations are unsuccessful, authorize the County Manager to negotiate a fee and execute a
contract with the alternate firm, RDM Architecture

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
A Request for Qualifications advertisement was distributed on October 25, 2018.
Advertisements were placed in the following publications:
Charlotte Observer
Charlotte Post
State of North Carolina Interactive Purchasing System
Charlotte Region American Institute of Architects
Two (2) firms submitted Qualifications Statements expressing an interest in the project and a desire to be interviewed: RDM Architecture and Angelo Architects.
On November 6, 2018, a shortlist committee composed of staff from the Medical Examiner’s Office and Asset and Facility Management determined that both firms should be interviewed for the project.
Per the Board's instructions, the Selection Committee submits the following report:

• Mark Jerrell - Mecklenburg County Commissioner, District 4
• Derrick Ramos - Assistant County Manager/Chief of Staff
• Thomas Owens MD - Chief Medical Examiner
• Mark Hahn, AIA - Director, Asset and Facility Management Department (AFM)
• Greg Godley - General Contractor appointed by the Board of County Commissioners
On February 4, 2019, the Selection Committee interviewed the two (2) interested firms: RDM Architecture and Angelo Architects.
