BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The City of Charlotte implemented a pilot program designed to provide grants that offset tax increases that may occur following the 2019 reappraisal.  Grant candidates are low and moderate-income senior homeowners who wish to continue living in their Charlotte homes as they age.  Grants are based on the percentage increase of their 2019 total tax amount due, compared to their 2018 total tax amount due.  The program is to be implemented on July 1, 2019.
