BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Foundation for The Carolinas (FFTC) and Mecklenburg County have been asked to host a book signing for author, former Charlotte Observer editor and child advocate David Lawrence, Jr.
Total costs for this event are anticipated at $8,500. Funds are being received by the County, as the designated point of contact, for payment to various vendors.
Local foundation and early childhood stakeholder sponsorships have been secured to cover the full cost of $8,500. Mecklenburg County's contribution for this event are in-kind only (staff time/facility use donation).
The sponsors are: Foundation For The Carolinas, Winer Family Foundation, Leading On Opportunity Council, TIAA, Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, and CCRI.
