BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The 80-bed Domestic Violence Shelter, which is always at capacity, does not have room to provide the longer stays needed by some victims of domestic violence. Many of these victims need more time to heal before they can support themselves and their children. Transitional housing subsidies ranging from six to twenty-four months, coupled with case management and connections to a broad range of services, provide the level of support needed to assist these families to move to permanent housing that they can sustain.

The grant application is due February 13, 2019. Notice of award will be made by October 1, 2019. If awarded, the grant period will run from October 2019 through September 2022.
