Authorize the County Manager to negotiate fees and execute a contract with Gensler for Architectural/Engineering Services for the CMGC Renovations Project, and in the event negotiations with this firm are unsuccessful, approve negotiations with the alternate firm of Fryday & Doyne

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
This project includes interior renovations to various areas on levels 2, 4, and 11 of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (CMGC) to accommodate the relocations of various County departments. The project includes relocating Public Information from the Valerie C. Woodard Center to the CMGC 4th floor, the relocation of Economic Development, renovating for new conference rooms on the 2nd floor where Economic Development vacates, and renovating the 11th floor.
PROCUREMENT BACKGROUND:
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was advertised July 22, 2018 in the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Post and the State of North Carolina Interactive Purchasing System website. The selection of the consulting firms followed NC General Statute 143-64.31, which prescribes a qualifications-based selection process.
