BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

This fund was established pursuant to NCGS §161-11.3, effective January 2, 2002, to provide new automation and/or preservation of the historical record collection at the Register of Deeds' Office by setting aside 10% of all fees collected by the Register of Deeds and Vital Records offices.  By this action, the Board will recognize revenue for this fund and will allow the County to appropriate money from the fund for the annual software and maintenance fees for the land records software and database at the Register of Deeds' Office, and also to be used to provide for preservation and enhancements of the Register of Deeds' Historical Record Collection.
