BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
There have been several studies over the past four years aimed at strengthening regional economic development and clarifying the roles of both the Charlotte Regional Partnership and the Charlotte
Chamber. Early in 2018 an ad hoc committee comprised of Partnership and Chamber leadership began working on a new framework for economic development activities for the 16 county region. The
result of that work is the creation of a single entity focused on Business Recruitment, Branding and Promotion, and Public Policy.
