Summary

ACTION:

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

This action will allow the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) to transfer an ALERT trailer back to City of Charlotte Fire Department. The trailer was purchased by the City and titled to the County in March 2005, with funding provided by the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant, for use by the MCSO ALERT Team.  The trailer is no longer being used by MCSO ALERT Team.

Per North Carolina General Statute G.S. 160A-280, donations to other governmental units of any equipment deemed to be obsolete, surplus or unused are allowed.

This resolution and a notice that was posted indicating that the Board would consider taking this action at its September 5, 2018 meeting are attached.
