BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The A Way Home Program is a $20 million housing endowment, funded in part by the Foundation for the Carolinas and the City of Charlotte, to assist families earning less than 50% of the Area Median Income to move from homelessness to sustainable housing. It began providing funds for rental subsidies to eligible families in 2014. Mecklenburg County government partnered with the A Way Home Program by providing funds for case managers to provide supportive services to families receiving the subsidy. A Way Home has tracked the progress of participant families since the program's inception and wishes to present its most recent findings to the Board of County Commissioners.
