BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Mecklenburg County Air Quality (MCAQ) is a certified local air quality program with the mission to lead and assist the County towards meeting and maintaining compliance with the health-based National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
MCAQ receives federal funds from a Clean Air Act (CAA), Section 105 grant through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Grant funds are used to fund and support, in part, commitments to U.S. EPA to implement programs to improve ambient air quality. These activities include permitting stationary sources of air pollutants, conducting ambient air monitoring, conducting emission inventories and enforcing environmental laws and regulations.
Grant application is due August 9, 2018.
