BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Mecklenburg County needs a Building Commissioning firm to provide services for the Eastway and Northern Regional Recreation Centers. Building Commissioning is the process of verifying all of the subsystems for mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, fire suppression systems, life safety systems, building envelope, lighting, building control systems, and building security systems have met the project requirements as intended by the building owner and as designed by the consulting architects and engineers.
PROCUREMENT BACKGROUND:
The selection of the commissioning firms followed NC General Statute 143-64.31 and the Selection of Engineers and Surveyors policy of the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners which prescribes a qualifications-based selection process.
A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) was advertised on or about April 27, 2018 in The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte Post and on the State of North Carolina Interactive Purchasing System website.
Thirteen (13) firms submitted a Statement of Qualifications expressing an interest in the projects.
