BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

Based on the outstanding work that the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) does in the community, Target invited MCSO to apply for their 2018 Target Community Engagement Funds Grant.  These grants are only awarded to 501(c)(3)'s, government agencies, school or non-profit organizations which align with Target's community giving strategy.  The Sheriff's Office will use these funds to purchase miscellaneous school supplies for Classroom Central, a local non-profit that collects and distributes school supplies to students and teachers in high-poverty K-12 schools.
