BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The current Mecklenburg County False Alarm Ordinance dates to 1996 and specifically authorizes CMPD to respond to alarms in unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County. Given the recent adoption of interlocal agreements for separate law enforcement services within the ETJ's of the county, revisions are necessary to bring the ordinance into conformity with the changes, effective July 1st.
