BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The North Carolina Division of Social Services has provided additional funding in the amount of $48,000 for the Adoption Promotion Fund to Mecklenburg County Youth and Family Services Division of the Department of Social Services. No local match is required as a condition for receipt of these funds. The purpose of the funds is to enhance and expand adoption services, to secure permanent homes for hard to place children, and to promote public/private partnerships. Allowable uses for these funds include Adoption Services, Adoption Recruitment, Adoption Assistance Case Management, Child-Specific Recruitment, Assessment and Training of Adoptive Parents and Post Adoption Case Management. The funds cannot be used to supplement the salaries of current county employees. Funds can be used until fully expended.
