BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Since 2002, Mecklenburg County has led several efforts focused on enterprise-wide strategic planning and performance management. Such strategic planning practices have allowed the County to track and monitor activity centered around its top most priorities and measures of performance. Throughout the years, however, the organization's approach to strategic planning has evolved to meet the needs of the community and leadership to include a change in the Managing 4 Results (M4R) philosophy and Balanced Scorecard framework. The presentation will inform the Board and the public of the most recent changes to the performance management philosophy, and to share the 2017-2019 Corporate key initiatives and revised scorecard. These initiatives and scorecard performance measures reflect the new high-level priorities of the County for the next three years, as many of the performance measures align to the Department 2017-2019 Strategic Business Plans.
