BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has reduced the Low Income Energy Assistance Program revenue provided to Mecklenburg County by $500,000. The funds are used to make one-time energy assistance payments for families who meet the eligibility qualifications.
