Authorize the County Manager to grant a Temporary Construction Easement (+/- 0.0017 acres) to Pulte Home Company, LLC on Mecklenburg County owned Tax Parcel 199-481-08 (McDowell Nature Preserve) for the construction of a storm drain inlet headwall

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

Next to the County’s McDowell Nature Preserve, Pulte Home Company, LLC (“Pulte”) is developing a new townhome residential community. Pulte has requested to make storm drain improvements to the existing storm structure running under Shopton Road West. Construction of the storm sewer will require the residential developer to access a portion of Mecklenburg County property at McDowell Creek Nature Preserve. Pulte has requested +/- 0.0017 acres of Temporary Construction Easement (TCE) from the County (tax parcel 199-481-08) to complete grading activities associated with this work

 

The request has been reviewed by the Park and Recreation Department and it has been determined that the request will not negatively impact the park property. County will be compensated an appraised value of $50.00 for the TCE.
