BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The subject property owner, Twelve-Ninety LLC, has proposed donating Tax Parcel 053-022-21 (+/- 9.070 acres) as required for rezoning purposes, for future greenway in the City of Charlotte’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. The land is located along the south side of Mount Holly Road and east side of Creston Circle, west of Interstate 485.

The property owner will also provide an Access Easement from the proposed residential community to the dedicated land to connect to the future expansion of Long Creek Greenway.

The donation by Twelve-Ninety, LLC will provide the County with an opportunity to construct an expansion of the future greenway in this area and provide access for the residents within the proposed multi-family residential community and nearby neighborhoods, such as the Overhill Acres subdivision.

The donation is consistent with the goals of the Meck Playbook that calls for the addition of parkland, greenway and open space within the County. It is also consistent with the County’s Environmental Leadership Action Plan.
