BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
National Mental Health Awareness Month shines the spotlight on the millions of Americans living with mental health conditions, including those that are suffering in silence and increases public understanding and awareness of mental health conditions, reducing stigma through conversations leading to action. The proclamation represents Mecklenburg County’s recognition of the importance of mental health awareness and demonstrates our commitment to partnering with and supporting residents with mental health needs, as well as the managed care and provider community.
