BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The grant project is a window restoration workshop. The workshops are targeted towards owners of older homes who would like to learn how to maintain and repair wood sash windows. Preservation of wooden windows helps to retain the historic character of the homes, is environmentally sustainable, and can save the homeowners money. The workshops will also address weather striping and other options to make older windows more energy efficient. The required match of $4,000 will be met through in-kind donations of time and materials, and the Historic Landmark Department operational budget.
