BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
On June 5, 2017, the Board approved an interlocal agreement between the Town of Huntersville and Mecklenburg County for funding the design of the Upper Torrence Tributary stream restoration project. To date, the Town and County have designed and bid approximately 6,133 feet of stream restoration along Torrence Tributary #1 from North Mecklenburg Park to Interstate 77. The Town Project is 4,567 feet of minor system. The County Project is 1,566 feet of major system.
The 2015 interlocal agreement included compensation to the County from the Town of Huntersville for the Town’s portion of design cost in the amount of $390,000. The Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement will include compensation to the County from the Town to administer and fund the Town’s portion of construction in an amount not to exceed $1,900,000. The total amended Interlocal Agreement would be $2,290,000.
