BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The subject property owner, Civil Reality INC, has proposed donating Tax Parcel 099-062-15 (+/- 0.228 acres) in east Charlotte. The property is adjacent to the existing County-owned parcels along Briar Creek, and it is located south of Purser Drive and north of Jennie Linn drive in east Charlotte. The property is vacant in the floodplain area.
The donation by Civil Reality, INC will provide the County’s effort to create contiguous land holdings along this portion of Briar Creek for future potential greenway development, preservation of the floodplain and open space.
The donation is consistent with the goals of the Meck Playbook that calls for the addition of parkland, greenway and open space within the County. It is also consistent with the County’s Environmental Leadership Action Plan.
