BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The Sustained Professional Purchasing Award (SPPA) is presented annually by the North Carolina Association of Governmental Purchasing (NCAGP) and recognizes all member agencies who have demonstrated sustained excellence in purchasing standards during the calendar year.  The award criteria reflect key procurement priorities, including the use of technology that enhance efficiency and transparency, minority and small business outreach to foster economic inclusion, professional staff certification to ensure subject matter expertise, end-user and vendor training to strengthen procurement knowledge, and a commitment to environmental sustainability practices.
