Accept donation of a Permanent Greenway Easement (+/- 2.142 acres) and a 40’ Access Easement on a portion of Tax Parcel 015-066-45 from The Pines at McIlwaine Homeowners Association Inc. needed for construction of a portion of the McDowell Creek Greenway

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

Park and Recreation is requesting approval to accept donation of a Permanent Greenway Easement (+/- 2.142 acres) and 40’ Access Easement for trail access from The Pines at McIlwaine Homeowners Association Inc. on the McDowell Creek Greenway (a portion of Tax Parcel 015-066-45) in the Town of Huntersville. The donation will support McDowell Creek Greenway, a FY 2024 funded Capital Improvement Plan project, as well as future improvements by Mecklenburg County Storm Water Services.

 

The donation is consistent with Park and Recreation’s Greenway Master Plan that calls for the addition of parkland, greenway and open space within the County. It is also consistent with the County’s Environmental Leadership Action Plan.
