Title
Budget Amendment - Area Mental Health (Revenue/Expense Increase)
Summary
ACTION:
Recognize, receive and appropriate $37,000 in Medicaid funds for the Shelter Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment (SACOT) Programs.
Staff Contact: Connie Mele, PSO Director Area Mental Health
Presentation: Yes____ No ___X___
BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The additional funds will be for the PSO Substance Abuse Treatment Programs (Men's and Women's Shelters, Jail Central and the Substance Abuse Services Center), to purchase the following:
1) Electronic signature pads to allow all parts of consumer medical records to be electronic. This was a recommendation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, a national accrediting body. Electronic files will save on paper and storage, decreasing the space needed to store paper forms.
2) Educational and recovery-related materials and books for consumer programming, updating facility furniture and equipment, and providing additional staff training.
