BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Governor Stein signed the budget passed by the House and Senate on July 7, 2026. The goal is to provide an update on overall funding increases, provisions benefiting counties, creating challenges for counties, and those impacting Mecklenburg County specifically. We will also offer additional updates on other legislation and rulemaking on the horizon.
