ACTION:

A - Adopt a grant project ordinance for FY25 Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice Funds in the General Grants Fund (G001)

 

B- Recognize, receive, and appropriate an additional amount up to $8,655 to the General Grants Fund (G001) within Criminal Justice Services

 

C - Approve the revised FY25 funding allocation plan as recommended by the Mecklenburg County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) with an additional amount up to $8,655

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

The Mecklenburg County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) received $2,051,713 in FY25 funding from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NCDPS). The Board approved item #24-0206  on April 16th, 2024, to recognize, receive, and appropriate the funds for Mecklenburg County Criminal Justice Services. This funding plan update is due to NCDPS awarding $8,655 of additional Discretionary Funds to the following programs:

 

1. Tresports Positive Action Program $2,500

2. Team-Up Connections-Group Mentoring $1,655

3. YDI Vocational and Career Development Academy $4,500
