ACTION:
Appointment is needed on the Central Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees to fill one (1) unexpired term expiring June 30, 2028.
Applications are attached, as well as, a letter from the Ad Hoc Interview Committee Chair.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Appointment is needed on the above said board.
On December 16, 2025, the Board nominated the following candidates for appointment consideration to the Central Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees: Janet LaBar, Corinne Perera, and Samuel Spencer IV. Samuel Spencer IV removed himself from appointment consideration.
On Friday, January 23, 2026, per Board Policy, the Ad Hoc Interview Committee interviewed Janet Labar and Corinne Perera. At the conclusion of the interviews, the committee voted three (3) to one (1), with three (3) voting for, and one (1) voting against the appointment of Janet LaBar to fill one (1) vacant seat on the CPCC Board of Trustees. Their recommendation is attached.
The Ad Hoc Interview Committee was comprised of the following Commissioners: Leigh Altman (Chair), Arthur Griffin, Vilma D. Leake, and Elaine Powell.
