BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Changes to the Fire Marshal’s Fire Prevention Ordinance are needed to align with the 2024 North Carolina Fire Code. The proposed amendments and new fees address code-related requirements and test protocols for emergency systems in buildings and infrastructures.
The Mecklenburg County Fire Marshals’ Office, in partnership with the Charlotte Fire Department, will implement a new fire permit.
