BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

This supplemental funding and vehicle donation from the City of Charlotte local funds will cover expenses and operating costs associated with the Community Assistance: Respond, Engage and Support (CARES) Team.  This additional funding is specifically for expenses in  excess of those expenditures already budgeted in the City of Charlotte's Edward Byre Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) . The CARES initiative provides civilian response to low-level 911 calls for service, that transition from the City of Charlotte to Mecklenburg County Public Health.
