BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department has a long-standing contract and relationship with the Tarheel TrailBlazers, a non-profit organization that builds and maintains natural surface mountain bike trails on properties owned or leased by Mecklenburg County and managed by the Park and Recreation Department. A land lease agreement for the area shown on the attached map was recently executed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities and Mecklenburg County to allow bike trails to be designed and maintained by the TrailBlazer under management of the Park and Recreation Department. The existing contract with the Tarheel TrailBlazers needs to be amended to include this leased property.
