ACTION:
Accept donation of a permanent greenway access easement (+/- .203 acres) and a permanent stormwater easement (+/- .087 acres) on Tax Parcel 025-113-13 from SCG Perimeter Woods, L.P. for access and ongoing greenway and storm water maintenance from SCG Perimeter Woods, L.P.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Long Creek Greenway and Stream Restoration Project is included in the County’s current Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and is a joint project between Park and Recreation and Stormwater Services. The project is in the Northlake area of Charlotte and construction is anticipated to begin summer/early fall 2020. To complete the project, easements on tax parcel 025-113-13 are necessary. The owner of the parcel, SCG Perimeter Woods, L.P., has agreed to donate the necessary easements. The owner has requested that the County cover up to $1,087 in its estimated legal costs to convey the easements. As the donation is not subject to a required donation per the City of Charlotte’s development ordinance, staff agrees with covering these legal expenses. Acquisition of property interests for greenway purposes is supported by the County's adopted Park and Recreation Master Plan.
