ACTION:

Recognize, receive and appropriate the additional funds received in the amount of $15,540 increasing the total grant amount to $65,540 in the General Grants Fund (G001) within Criminal Justice Services.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:

Mecklenburg County received a $50,000 grant in FY23 from the NC Department of Public Safety (NCDPS). Board approved item #22-7822 on September 7th, 2022, to recognize, receive, and appropriate the funds for Mecklenburg County Criminal Justice Services (CJS). In FY24 the County received an additional $15,540 to be allocated to the Local Reentry Council grant for CJS to continue to expend funds on vocational training and emergency housing for indigent clients recently released from incarceration.
