BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Mecklenburg County Department of Child, Family & Adult Services (CFAS) - Services for Adults (SFA) seeks affirmation of its submission of a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) for funding under the FY25 Services for Victims of Crime program. This application requests $375,000 over a 36-month term - beginning October 1, 2025, and concluding September 30, 2028 - with no match required.

The proposed funding will support:

These services are aimed at promoting recovery, reducing abuse recidivism, supporting aging in place, and decreasing the need for higher levels of care.
· Case Management Services ($25,000/year): Funding additional services performed by Generations Family Services (GFS) to assist referred adults who require interventions beyond current levels, potentially preventing the need for formal guardianship or Adult Protective Services (APS) involvement. These services include connection to resources, benefit applications, and navigation of care systems.
